An events caterer of vegan and vegetarian food begins a trial period tomorrow, operating from his catering van in the coach parking area of Henhayes car park. Mark Dobbinson, proprietor and main chef of O-Jas, will be in Crewkerne on Thursday evenings from approx 5 pm until 8.30 pm. Mark is already a popular addition to the monthly Farmers Market in the town and has over 30 years experience working in the vegan and vegetarian food industry. He has previously run a food stall at Spitalfields Market in London, been leading chef at a vegetarian cafe in Sheffield and at a popular vegan restaurant in Nottingham.
Mark Dobbinson is looking forward to providing the people of Crewkerne with healthy plant-based options. His extensive menu includes veggie burgers, wraps and burritos, all prepared on site, and served with or without hummus, griddled halloumi and fresh salad. Crewkerne Town Council discussed Mark’s request to operate a street food business from his catering van, at the meeting of the Amenities Committee in March, when councillors agreed to give O-Jas a three month trial period for Thursday evenings. Due to the Easter holidays when many health and fitness classes were on a break, Mark decided to wait until Thursday April 25th to launch his takeaway service in Crewkerne and take up the town council’s offer. Mark is looking forward to welcoming existing and new customers on Thursday evenings.
