Crewkerne Lions Club have awarded Wadham School student Caitlin Moffatt with a cheque for £700, to put towards valuable resources for the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Sixth former Caitlin participated in the Lions Club Young Ambassador Scheme and took part in a regional final for young people who are contributing to their community and working towards funding a project.
Crewkerne Lion, Lesley Chudley said: “Caitlin was a really worthy recipient of the award. The judges were very impressed with her dedication to ensuring as many of her fellow students could enjoy the benefits she had experienced in taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Caitlin acquitted herself very well at the multi-district final which took place in Dudley.” As well as the money, Caitlin was presented with the Peter Drew Trophy, named after a Lion member from Tiverton who encouraged participation in the Young Ambassador Scheme.
