YOUNGSTERS ENJOY MAKING SAND CASTLES DURING CREATIVE WEEK AT LIBRARY

Youngsters enjoyed making sand castles during Creative Week at Crewkerne Library. The fun activity, with a prize for the best built sand structure, followed an after school talk for children aged between seven and 12 years by author Dave Pretty. Dave is a former scout master who enjoyed telling ghost stories around the camp fire. He wrote a story about two cats for his children and wrote sketches for gang shows.

Dave promised himself that when he retired, he would write a book for children. His published book Sand Lands, follows the story of two friends who while hiding from bullies in a sand structure, discover a secret door into another world, made entirely of sand. Kidnappings, pirates, more secrets and a race against time, take the young reader to the book’s exciting conclusion . Following Dave Pretty’s talk at Crewkerne Library, the children also enjoyed talking about what they would call their own secret world.
