EXHIBITION BY FRENCH ARTISTS AT MUSEUM

Members and friends of Crewkerne and District Twinning Association are eagerly awaiting the arrival of visitors from the twin towns of Igny and Bures sur Yvette, who will be arriving on Thursday May 30th. This year, the group is bringing paintings by three of their local artists, two of whom are also travelling with the party. An exhibition has been arranged at Crewkerne Museum and Heritage Centre, for two to three weeks, beginning on Saturday June 1st.

The pictures being exhibited are by Annick Busseau, Patricia Perez and Germain Kouassi. Annick Busseau was a teacher and author in the field of international trade, while also becoming well known as an artist. Patricia Perezs’ mother was a painter and she grew up in an artistic family. Patricia studied at the Beaux Arts in Grenoble and at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. She became interested in choreography which led to design work in the theatre and later became a teacher, passing on the appreciation of art to young people.

Germain Kouassi studied art in his native Cote d’ Ivoire before going to the Ecole des Beaux Arts, where he received his Doctorate. Germain sometimes uses colours from natural African materials, such as tapa bark or cola fruit. He is Head of Art at the College de la Guyonnerie in Bures sur Yvette. Patricia Perez accompanied by her husband Michel and Germain Kouassi accompanied by his wife Catherine, will be visiting Crewkerne with the twinning party. All of the paintings will be available for sale during the art exhibition at Crewkerne Museum.
