The Spanish evening at The Dance House in Crewkerne was fabuloso, with acoustic guitarist Matthew Clark and Flamenco dancer Salud Botella performing to a full house. Una Noche Espanola (A Spanish Evening) began with Matthew, a talented musician based in East Coker, playing a selection of his own compositions. After the interval, when Spanish style drinks and a cold buffet were served, the incredible footwork by the sensational Salud electrified the room. The audience were amazed by Salud’s perfect timing, professionalism and vitality as she performed some of the fast paced dances while also playing the castanets.
Salud Botella is currently based in West Dorset where she runs Bridport Flamenco, teaching others the dance steps and body movements. For musician Matthew Clark it was his first solo recital and since the concert, he has been accepted to study for a music degree in composition and has announced that there will be more concert dates, coming soon. Anita Bradfield of The Dance House said: “We had a full house for our show. Thank you all for coming to our Spanish evening.”
