A street collection in Crewkerne for Christian Aid on Friday May 17th, raised £412.43 in donations. Christian Aid Week unites churches throughout Britain and Ireland, working globally for profound change that eradicates the causes of poverty and striving to achieve equality, dignity and freedom for all, regardless of faith or nationality. The first Christian Aid Week was held in 1957 and six decades later, the charity’s annual collections are still going strong. Crewkerne volunteer collector Simon Colledge said: “I would like to thank all our supporters and helpers for the generous donations and assistance given with this year’s street collection during Christian Aid Week.”
