Crewkerne & District Men’s Shed reopened at its new base in 14a East Street, Crewkerne on Tuesday July 2nd. The future of the Men’s Shed, which is proving popular with those who enjoy woodwork or craft activities and sharing skills, experiences, ideas and tools with like minded people – became uncertain when the group left their temporary base in the Kings Arms last year and were unable to find alternative premises in the town centre.

Thanks to the generous support of shop owners Linda and Richard Wilyman, the Men’s Shed has resumed its weekly workshops and social get-togethers. Sessions take place every Tuesday from 10 am – 1 pm and on Thursdays from 1 pm – 4 pm. The Men’s Shed is also grateful for the support they have received from Richard Hall and from the Rotary Club of Crewkerne, South Somerset District Council and Crewkerne Town Council.

Men’s Shed chairman Peter Boothby-Smith is keen to promote the weekly workshops and the group’s FIX-IT programme for the community. He is inviting anyone who has an item of wooden furniture that needs mending or is looking for someone to make a bird box, planter or similar item of wooden construction to call in and see him.
