Tom won the event when it first started in 1999 and went on to become a world class sportsman, taking part in European and World Championships of the triathlon as part of the GB team.

A spokesperson for Crewkerne Junior Triathlon said: “The triathlon is different from other sporting events, requiring a swim, transition to a cycle and then finishing with a run. Completing three disciplines in one event is what makes the triathlon a challenging sport. We would like to thank our sponsors Crewkerne Aqua Centre, The Menders and the Rotary Club of Crewkerne. A big thank you to our MC Derek Boles from Crewkerne Running Club, to all the local organisations whose volunteers helped to officiate at the event and to the young athletes and their families for making it a great success.”
