COMMUNITY FETE RAISES FABULOUS AMOUNT FOR CHARITY

The summer fete at Barn Crescent, organised by the elderly residents of the Yarlington Assisted Living Scheme, raised £1,107.00. The community event included a table top sale with bargains to be found on the bric-a-brac stalls, a tombola and a raffle with lots of prizes, kindly donated, many of which were presented in decorated baskets with bows, to make winning a prize even more special. Lunches and afternoon teas were served in the community room. Entertainment was provided by local singer and musician Ken Priest, with visitors enjoying signing along to the hits from the 1960’s. The residents chose the Stroke Association as the beneficiary for this year’s summer fete and as one visitor remarked: “It was a fabulous amount to raise, for a small community fete.”
