FilmCrew’s First Film Of New Season/Crewkerne AWareness September Meeting
Crewkerne & District Community Cinema returns to Wadham School auditorium on Friday September 13th. FilmCrew’s first film of the new season, to be screened at 7.30 pm, is First Man. Ryan Gosling stars as Neil Armstrong in this drama/sci-fi about the legendary space mission that led to astronaut Neil Armstrong becoming the first man to walk on the moon on July 20th, 1969. Directed by Oscar winning director Damien Chazelle and based on the book by James R Hansen, the film explores the triumphs and cost on Armstrong, his family, colleagues and the nation itself of one of the most dangerous missions in history, which celebrated its 50th anniversary this year. Visitors may attend an individual film without booking in advance for £6, payable when doors open at 7 pm. Coffee and cake are available before the film, the proceeds which benefit a different local charity each month. Annual membership for the film season which runs from September to May costs £25. Crewkerne AWareness September meeting on Monday 16th at 7 pm explores the ancient Chinese art of Feng Shui. Practitioners belief that balancing the energy of a space by arranging objects and furniture in the best position and choosing the right colours and materials for decorating rooms in the home or office, brings harmony and optimizes abundance and good health. Guest speaker Paula Fisher is a complimentary therapist, psychic and Reiki healer, who specialises in working with colour and energy.
