COMMUNITY SAFETY EVENT COMING BACK TO FALKLAND SQUARE

The Community Safety Event will be back in Falkland Square this year, on Friday September 27th from 9.30 am until 12.30 pm. The annual event is organised by Crewkerne Town Council’s Community Safety Group, a local action group that is recognised by Mendip and Somerset Community Safety Partnership. It was last held in 2017 outside of the town hall and although footfall was down on previous years, the event still provided a great opportunity for the different services to network with each other. Members of the public are invited to come along and talk to councillors and safety professionals, in an informal setting about safety matters which may be causing them concern.

Exhibitors will include Police Community Support Officers from Avon & Somerset Constabulary, South Somerset District Council and Somerset Road Safety Partnership. Chairman of Crewkerne Community Safety Group, Cllr. Mike Best said: “Crewkerne is one of the few towns to still have a community safety group and the event gives local people the opportunity to discuss their concerns about community safety issues, whether this is their personal safety or that of the environment, in strictest confidence.” For more information please contact Deputy Clerk Laura Gowers at Crewkerne Town Council on 01460 74001.
