Community Radio Station Goes Live/Somerset Author Talk At Library
Community broadcasts from Fresh Radio go live through the internet on September 30th at 6 pm. Volunteer presenter Robbie Hunter and his team of volunteers will offer a wide selection of live and recorded shows, weekdays and at weekends, covering a variety of music, news stories, travel reports and diary events. The community radio station will begin broadcasting from a mini locally based studio but the ultimate aim is to afford a proper studio, ideally based in Crewkerne, with a community hub alongside it, to enable the experienced volunteers to teach people new skills and help them on the road to working in the world of radio and broadcasting.
In addition to a live show with Robbie Hunter, DJ Badger presents late night dance music and Lady Liz who does something special for charity every year, joins the current line-up of presenters going live. Recorded shows include Pete’s country music, Soundlab with Jim, Alices Anthems with Alice, one of the radio stations disabled presenters, Dave’s songs from the 1970’s, Cliff who will bring in special guests, Mike Francis playing a variety of music and Chris Clark playing all styles, promoting What’s On and including some cheeky chat. Robbie Hunter said: “I want to say a big thank you to everyone that has helped us to get this far but there is still a lot to do, before we get our proper studios.” To listen to Fresh Radio or for more information on the community radio stations programme, to enquire about advertising or to help with the fundraising, please visit www.swfresh.co.uk
