LEGION REAFFIRM AFFILIATION WITH ROYAL NAVAL AIR STATION

The Crewkerne Branch of the Royal British Legion reaffirmed their affiliation with RNAS Yeovilton during a visit to the Royal Naval Air Station. Branch President Terry Austin presented a plaque he had made to Commander Bond, the Commanding Officer of 845 Squadron. Legion branch members were shown around the Squadron’s UK base by Lieutenant Burn and were able to see the Mk3 and Mk4 Merlin helicopters. Crewkerne Branch Secretary Alice Samuel said: “Considering many of the Squadron were preparing for their deployment the following day, to board the new ship Queen Elizabeth to go to the USA, they still generously gave time with the Branch and it was an enjoyable visit.”
