MULTI AWARD WINNING QUARTET TO PERFORM AT DANCE HOUSE

Concerts in the West have announced that multi award winning Consone Quartet are coming to Crewkerne on Saturday November 2nd. The group of four musicians, Agata Daraskaite on violin, Magdalena Loth-Hill also on violin, Elitsa Bogdanova on viola and George Ross on cello was formed at the Royal College of Music in London. One of seven musicians from around the world to join the BBC’s New Generation Artists scheme for 2019-2021, they will perform at The Dance House in an evening concert, beginning at 7.30 pm.

John Bartholomew, who helps to organise the classical music programme on behalf of Concerts in the West said: “This is a very considerable accolade in the music world and something of a scoop for us in Crewkerne.” Consone Quartet won two prizes at the 2015 York Early Music International Young Artists competition and won the 2016 Royal Overseas League Ensemble prize in London. A debut CD featuring music by Haydn and Mendelssohn was released last year. Tickets at £15 are available from the LIC in the town hall and online. They may still be available at the door, depending on the number of tickets sold, prior to the concert.
