CELEBRATING OPENING OF SHOP AND CAFE

Twigs and Twine Floral Design invited customers and friends to join them on Saturday afternoon, as they celebrated the opening of their new shop and cafe on the corner of Church Street. The celebrations took place upstairs in The Canopy Coffee Shop, which is being managed by Stacey who many may remember from her time at Costa. The Canopy offers a wide selection of coffees and cold drinks, including milkshakes and smoothies with a selection of cakes and caters for specialist dietary requirements, such as dairy free. The cafe also has an area reserved for young children to play.

Proprietors Laura Brown and Ella Kivett and well-wishers toasted the new ventures success with a glass of bubbly and enjoyed a slice of celebration cake made by Bea from The Silver Cake. Laura and Ella said: “We would like to thank everyone who has helped us to get the shop and cafe ready to open, also everyone who has supported us once we opened by visiting us as their local independent florist and coffee shop.”

Twigs and Twine Floral Design began at a smaller shop in the George Shopping Centre. The recent move to larger premises in the town and new addition of an upstairs cafe, means that they have more room for flowers, plants and botanical gifts and space for workshops and children’s activities. Saturday story mornings for children will take place during November, beginning on Saturday 9th with a session at 9 am for children under five years and at 9.30 am for children under eight years. The story times offer new exciting and classic adventures, read aloud by a local English tutor. They are free to attend and there is no need to book a place beforehand.
