Halloween Activities At Museum/ Bonfire & Fireworks Display
Halloween activities for children take place at Crewkerne Museum and Heritage Centre during school half term from 10 am until 4 pm on Wednesday 30th, Thursday 31st and Friday November 1st. Crafts include making dream catchers, masks, bats and spiders, colouring in pictures and youngsters will have the chance to hunt for pumpkins and mice in the galleries. There is no need to book beforehand but all children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The museum’s current exhibition, Hidden Collection, ends on Saturday November 2nd. Volunteers are busy preparing for the final exhibition of the year, Art in the Museum, which begins on Saturday November 9th and runs until November 30th on weekdays and on Saturdays from 11 am until 2 pm. The art exhibition will showcase crafts made by local people, including textiles, woodwork, jewellery and pottery and paintings by local artists.

The annual Bonfire Night and Fireworks Display, organised by volunteers of the Rotary Club of Crewkerne District, takes place on Saturday November 2nd in the field behind the Old Stagecoach Inn in Station Road. Gates open at 6.30 pm for the full bonfire night experience with candy floss, hot food, glow ropes and sparklers available. The bonfire will be lit at 7 pm and the fireworks display starts at 7.30 pm. The event is being sponsored by Crewkerne businesses, entry fees are adults £6, children £2 and youngsters under the age of five years admitted free with a paying adult.
