NOMINATIONS INVITED FOR HONOURED CITIZEN AWARD

Nominations are invited for this year’s Honoured Citizen Award by Crewkerne Town Council. The annual award which started in 1997, recognises members of the local community who have volunteered their services and given their time across the town, be it publicly or behind the scenes. Last year’s recipients of the award were Richard Hall and Norman Tim Udall OBE. Since 1997, 42 men and women, who at the time were on the Parliamentary Electoral Roll for Crewkerne, have been named Honoured Citizens of Crewkerne and their names recorded on the Roll of Honour in the council chamber at the town hall.

A spokesperson for Crewkerne Town Council said: “If you know someone who has given their time over many years for the benefit of Crewkerne and its community, without looking for reward for what they do, this is your opportunity to put them forward for recognition.” The closing date for nominations is Monday March 16th and the winner or winners will be named Honoured Citizen of Crewkerne at the Annual Town Meeting of Electors on Monday April 20th, 2020. Nomination forms can be obtained from the LIC at the town hall, from the town council office or online at www.crewkerne-tc.gov.uk

Nominations must be from individuals and will not be accepted from organisations or societies. They must also be signed by three individual electors and nominees must not be told of their nomination. Serving councillors from county, district and town councils are not eligible. For more information about the annual citizenship award, please telephone 01460 74001 or email towncouncil@crewkerne-tc.gov.uk
