Public engagement events where local people can help shape a new way of providing community health and care services, which are practical, closer to home and support independence, are taking place across Somerset. The engagement programme is being run by Fit For My Future – the strategy for NHS Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group, who work closely with Somerset County Council.
Crewkerne’s engagement events take place on Friday February 7th at Crewkerne Community Hospital from 11 am until 1 pm and at Crewkerne Library on Friday March 27th from 10 am until 12 noon. Health and care services in Somerset aim to support people to live independent healthier lives by having the right services in the right place for their needs, available at the right time and delivered by the right people.
In a statement, Somerset CCG said: “Everyone’s input, ideas and suggestions are vital to helping us make sure we have the right services in the right place. A number of ways that health and care services could be delivered differently will be developed, using all the feedback received. There will be a public consultation about these potential options in the future.” The engagement programme runs until April 12th. The engagement document, which states the reasons why current services need to change and the challenges faced continuing to run them, can be viewed and comments made by visiting www.fitformyfuture.org.uk For enquiries on the engagement programme, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 01935 384119.
