A young fundraiser who helped to bake cakes before selling them at his mum’s shop, during the school half term holidays, has seen Cancer Research UK benefit by an amazing amount of £328.80. Roye Hammond who raised £200.58 from the charity cake sale at Take A Peek Boutique on Monday February 17th was assisted by Macie, who raised a further £23.22 from her glitter tattoos. The amount raised in the Crewkerne shop, which closed yesterday due to a family illness, was supported by online donations of £105.00.
Roye’s mum, Kylie Hammond said: “Well done Macie and thank you to everyone who helped by either making cakes, buying cakes at the sale or donating to the cause. A huge thank you to Roye for doing such a good job. We are so proud of our little boy.” Roye was presented with a trophy after the event, with the date and total amount raised engraved on it, so that he will always be able to remember his fundraising achievement.
