Children at Jigsaw Preschool dressed up as their favourite storybook characters on Thursday, to celebrate World Book Day. The youngsters arrived at Preschool wearing a colourful selection of costumes, from princesses, fairy godmother, Pinocchio to super heroes, a pirate and many other popular fictional characters. They also enjoyed making bookmarks, an extended story time, where they were able to look through the books they had brought into the classroom from their homes and made biscuits during the afternoon session.
A spokesperson for Jigsaw Preschool said: “Literacy is always an important part of our everyday routine here, as we know that a love of reading will last a lifetime. All the children looked fabulous in their costumes and everyone enjoyed dressing up for World Book Day.”
