SYMBOL OF HOPE AND THANKS LIGHTS UP SKY BEFORE APPLAUSE

A rainbow lit up the evening sky before the weekly applause on Thursday by residents on their doorsteps, to thank all NHS staff and key workers for their dedication to service, during the current coronavirus pandemic of Covid-19.

The natural weather phenomenon, which has become a national symbol of hope and thanks, with children drawing pictures of rainbows and displaying them across town in their windows, was photographed over East Street by Debra Best.
