SPORTS CLUB COMBINES DAILY EXERCISE MILEAGE TO FUNDRAISE FOR HOSPITAL

Members of Crewkerne RFC combined the mileage covered in a week of exercise, to raise an incredible £2,480 for Yeovil District Hospital. The charity challenge to go to Twickenham and back as many times as possible, over seven days, saw members out individually walking, running and cycling. When the daily mileages were added together, an impressive total of 4,559 miles had been covered.

The distance from Crewkerne to Twickenham is around 250 miles, which was easily achieved on home ground, early on in the challenge as was reaching the club’s target of £2,000. A spokesperson for Yeovil Hospital Charity said: “Thanks so much to the amazing Crewkerne Rugby Club who took on the challenge to cover 250 miles to Twickenham and back. Not only have they smashed their challenge but they’ve raised over £2K for our fabulous staff and hospital” Crewkerne RFC replied by saying: ” We are really proud as a club to have raised £2,480 for Yeovil Hospital to help support the amazing work they are doing now and have been doing for a very long time.”
