Long standing member of the Inner Wheel Club of Crewkerne, Veronica Chard, demonstrated how her handmade headbands help to protect the ears when wearing facial masks. Veronica shared her successful design, made with assorted fabrics and decorated with pink buttons, when six club members, including President Trisha Perry, met outdoors with social distancing measures in place.
Initially, five headbands were made and offered to Crewkerne Hospital. The fabric creations, which enable the NHS staff at the local hospital to hook their masks onto and help to soothe the ears from irritation, were well received and Mrs Chard was asked to make another 20, bringing the total of headbands made to 25.
