Crewkerne Library will offer an order and collect service when it reopens on Monday August 3rd at 10 am. Customers will need to request books, talking books and DVDs by email, telephone or by completing a Reading Request form, available at https://secure1.somerset.gov.uk/forms/portalshowform.asp A spokesperson for Crewkerne Library said: “We are very pleased to announce that as part of the phased reopening of library buildings, our library in Falkland Square will be able to offer an order and collect service from Monday, allowing collections of up to 10 books, to be picked up.”
The altered opening hours at Crewkerne Library are: Mondays 10 am – 1 pm, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays 10 am – 1 pm, 2 pm – 4 pm and Saturdays 10 am – 12 noon, the library is closed on Thursdays. Internet access, for those who don’t have home internet and need to log on for essential services will be available. Computer slots of one hour maximum need to be pre-booked and facial coverings must be worn. Each computer station will be thoroughly cleaned between bookings with desks positioned at least 2 metres apart.
Browsing of books on the library’s shelves is not currently possible. The current quarantine period for new books and returned books arriving at the library is 72 hours. Overdue charges on loans has been extended until the end of August. Crewkerne Library will continue to run online events and Silly challenges, in honour of this year’s national Summer Reading Challenge through its new Facebook page, Somerset Libraries Crewkerne.
