Crewkerne Farmers Market makes a welcome return tomorrow, Saturday August 15th, from 9 am until 1 pm outside of the Henhayes Centre. Speaking on behalf of Somerset Farmers Market, co-ordinator Hannah said: “We are thrilled to be back in Crewkerne this Saturday, with many of your favourite local food and drink producers and some special guests. We’ve taken our time to return to our town location, carefully considering the impact of our presence, making a few changes to our market layout and have put in place a guide to all traders of our expectations and responsibilities.”
Alongside the regular market stalls, who will have plenty of fresh produce on sale, Crewkerne Farmers Market is pleased to announce that Clover, selling hardy perennial plants and willow work, will also be returning to the market. Other local producers who have confirmed their attendance are; Bower Hinton Farm Produce, Somerset Cheese Company, North Perrott Fruit Farm and Ali’s Homemade Produce. Returning to the Makers Market, which runs alongside the farmers market are; Dandelion & Peacock – selling unique decorative cushions and handcrafted wooden serving boards and Daisy Grace Crochet – with a range of bespoke crochet hats and accessories for all ages.
Customers will be encouraged to shop using the one-way system and queue safely at busy stalls. Limited entry/exit points will be in place, supervised by a dedicated person and customers will be able to use the hand sanitiser available on entry. Canopy poles will be sanitised with anti-viral disinfectant before traders set up and spaces between canopies will be blocked off with barriers, cones or ropes. Social distancing measures will be in place between traders and access to the market limited to a safe number, at all times.
Organisers are reminding people to only attend the market if they are well and if possible to shop on their own. Customers who are accompanied by children, are reminded that they are responsible for supervising them at all times. Crewkerne Farmers Market co-ordinator Hannah said: “We look forward to seeing you on Saturday. Thank you for supporting local producers, it means so much to us all.”
