STAGGERED STARTING TIMES INTRODUCED FOR ANNUAL BOUNDARY WALK

Staggered starting times have been introduced for this year’s walk around Crewkerne’s boundaries. The annual event, organised by Crewkerne District Rotary, takes place on Saturday September 5th. A spokesperson for Crewkerne District Rotary said: “This year due to coronavirus restrictions we are planning the walk a little differently. Groups will be limited to six people, including your walk leader and pre-booking is required. Social distancing rules must be observed at all times and when you book, we will give you a starting time slot between 2 pm and 3 pm.”

The guided six mile walk, through beautiful countryside surrounding Crewkerne is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs, due to several stiles that need climbing over along the route. Dogs on leads and children, accompanied by an adult, are welcome to take part in the annual boundary walk, which will begin from outside Crewkerne Library in Falkland Square. Walkers are reminded to wear sturdy footwear and to dress appropriately for the weather conditions on the day. To book a place, please visit www.crewkernedistrictrotary.org.uk, click on Reserve A Space and answer the questions, remembering to change the number of spaces to be reserved if necessary. A member of the Rotary club will contact everyone to confirm their booking and their starting time slot.
