Guest speakers are proving to be a popular addition to virtual meetings of the Crewkerne Business Group. Last month’s online meeting attended by representatives from 19 local businesses, welcomed guest speakers, Stephen Henagulph CEO and Helen Lacey, Chairman of the Board, both from Somerset Chamber of Commerce and David Woan, President of Yeovil Chamber of Commerce. Leighton Ballantine of Ballantine Wealth Management, who hosted the meeting said: “We are using Zoom as a vehicle for now to bring us all together. It is great to see so many happy faces throughout Crewkerne and South Somerset this morning.”
A Meet and Greet section gave everyone the opportunity to introduce themselves, their business and share positive news on how they manged during the lockdown with many businesses agreeing that trade was now picking up and they could see ‘light at the end of the tunnel’. Helpful tips for setting up a business chamber in Crewkerne from the guest speakers, who all have a wealth of expertise and experience in trade and commerce, was greatly appreciated.
Moving forward, the Crewkerne Business Group, whose aim is to unite the local businesses and promote the town, will continue to ‘harness the enthusiasm’ shown for a business chamber in Crewkerne, while carrying on the ‘flexible basis’ of the group for the time being. The next virtual meeting of Crewkerne Business Group is scheduled for Thursday September 17th from 8.45 am until 10 am. Any local business that would like to join the positive new group on Zoom, or is interested but unable to connect at that time of the day, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
