Community groups and charitable organisations based within Crewkerne are invited to apply for grants by Crewkerne Town Council. Application forms are available from the town hall or can be downloaded from www.crewkerne-tc.gov.uk
The deadline for grant applications is 1 pm on Friday October 2nd and applicants will be contacted in November.
Successful recipients will be asked to collect their cheque, hopefully at the Annual Town Meeting of Electors in April 2021. This annual event was cancelled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown.
Sixteen local organisations and community groups received a community grant award in 2020/21, with amounts ranging from £100 to £2,100. Those who were successful in receiving a town council grant were as follows: Citizens Advice South Somerset £2,100, Henhays Community Centre £1,250, Crewkerne & District Museum & Heritage Centre £1,000, Crewkerne In Bloom £1,000, The Speedwell Club £1,000, Rotary Club of Crewkerne District £750, St Bartholomew’s Friends of School Association £600, Crewkerne Twinning Association £500, Friends of Crewkerne Library £500, Phoenix Brass £500, CUDOS £335, Merriott Majorettes £200, Crewkerne & District Under 5’s Toy Library £200, Crewkerne Gardening Club £200, Crewkerne Action for the Disabled £135 and Crewkerne Tea Dance Group £100.
