REPORT ON SEEKING LEGAL ADVICE ON KITHILL DEVELOPMENT APPEAL DECISION

The next meeting of Crewkerne Town Council, Planning and Highways Committee, will include a report from Cllrs Charles Aslett and Mike Best regarding the action to seek legal advice over the appeal decision on the Kithill Development. The issue is number eight on the Agenda for the meeting, to be held remotely on Monday October 12th at 6.45 pm. Other matters on Monday’s agenda include: Speeding in the town – correspondence having been received regarding speeding traffic on North Street and a report from Cllr Aslett regarding the speeding traffic on Hermitage Street. Councillors will also consider the quotations received for the purchase of a Speed Indicator Device and receive the Clerk’s report. The following planning applications will be noted or considered:

To note only 20/02542/COL 134 Park View Crewkerne TA18 8JJ Certificate of lawfulness application for a proposed single storey rear extension to dwelling.

20/02749/TCA 197 South Street Crewkerne TA18 8AE Notification of intent to carry out tree surgery works to no 1 tree within a conservation area.

20/02488/TCA Beechfields Mount Pleasant Crewkerne TA18 7AH Notification of intent to carry out tree surgery works to various trees within a conservation area.

Following the meeting of the Planning and Highways Committee, councillors will reconvene for Full Council to confirm the appointment of Cllr Robin Cottle as the outside body representative at meetings of Crewkerne Business Group. Councillors will consider the purchase of a section of Christmas lights, a request for a volunteer run, community fridge to be located in the front office of the town hall and accept the notification from the SSDC Monitoring Officer, that Cllr Allan Smith has ceased to be a member of the town council, having failed to attend meetings for six consecutive months and not requested dispensation from the council.
