Success of Crewkerne Business Group meetings, has led to a change in format for its next online meeting, taking place on Zoom, Thursday October 15th from 9 am – 10 am. The business group’s virtual sessions, which are open to new and existing businesses in the town, regardless of size, previously welcomed guest speakers to join them. Last month’s guests from the award winning market town of Frome, who shared their experience and expertise on promoting trade and commerce in their area were Neil Howlett, Frome Chamber of Commerce, Vivienne Whitaker, Economic Regeneration Officer for Frome Town Council and Andy Palmer, member of Frome Chamber of Commerce and Frome Town Council, who all expressed the importance of “seizing the power of localism, marketing what a town is great at, working on what it needs to grow at and having a good working relationship with the town’s council.”
Crewkerne Town Council has recently appointed Councillor Robin Cottle as the outside body representative to the emerging business chamber in Crewkerne. Leighton Ballantine, Ballantine Wealth Management Ltd, host of the online meetings for Crewkerne Business Group said: “I’m having some great feedback from members connecting, having one-2-ones, local sponsorship and business happening locally. This is fantastic and what the group is about!” This month’s meeting of CBG on Thursday morning will include more time for members to engage with each other in smaller groups, with the introduction of Breakout Rooms, to be hosted by Leighton Ballantine, Hannah Palmer, Anna Grand and Jon Allen. Any local business that would like to join the positive new group on Zoom, or is interested but unable to connect at that time of day, please email email@example.com.
