Pumpkins will be on sale along with other quality locally produced food and drink at Crewkerne Farmers’ Market on Saturday October 17th. The monthly farmers market takes place outside of the Henhayes Centre from 9 am until 1 pm and everyone involved in setting up and running the market has done their very best to make it as safe as possible to visit.
Producers at the market are embracing the town’s Totally Locally Fiver Fest with surprise £5 offers of their own. Saturday’s market will include: Bower Hinton Farm selling fresh seasonal vegetables, North Perrott Fruit Farm with local apple juice and seasonal fruit, Ali’s Homemade Produce offering homemade bread, cakes, quiches and pastries, Porky Blinders selling high quality pork from pampered pigs, White’s of Wicks with beef reared to the highest standards, Melbury Farm’s seasonal produce, conserves and lamb wool, In Clover with their hardy perennial plants and willow work and Daisy Graces’ crochet hats and accessories.
Farmers Market coordinator Hannah said: “It’s marvellous to be able to offer a wider range to customers and we hope you will continue to support our local farmers and food producers.” Please remember to only visit the market if you are well, to adhere to social distancing and the one-way system in place, use the hand sanitiser and where possible shop on your own.
The Totally Locally Fiver Fest is a fun and innovative opportunity to support Crewkerne’s diverse range of independents, with dozens of businesses taking part across the town. The weather forecast for Saturday is likely to be reasonable, so combining a visit to the Farmers’ Market with a look around the town to see what £5 deals are on offer, would seem to be a great plan of action.
