Somerset County Council has advised of two forth-coming temporary road closures in Crewkerne. The first affecting Curriott Hill Road is to enable Western Power Distribution to carry out electricity pole replacement works. The works are expected to commence on December 1st and last for two days. All traffic will be prohibited from proceeding along this road, for a distance of approximately 178 metres between the hours of 9.30 am and 3.30 pm. The road is being closed for safety purposes, due to limited visibility on the approach to the junction with Lyme Road, Hermitage Street and Middle Path Road. The junction will be controlled under a four-way traffic light system.
The other temporary road closure is for a section of Cathole Bridge Road near the turning to Hewish Lane, heading towards Roundham. Works by Wessex Water are expected to commence on December 8th and last for four days. A section of this road, covering a distance of approximately 115 metres will be closed 24 hours a day, while the utility company is carrying out new connection works. A diversion will be in place and signed on the approach to the road. For full details of these temporary road closures and a map showing alternative routes, please visit www.one.network.
