NEW LOCATION FOR THIS MONTH’S FARMERS MARKET

Crewkerne Farmers’ Market will take place on Saturday, December 19th from 9 am – 1 pm in Stokes Partners car park, around the corner from the solicitor’s offices at Kingfisher House in Market Square. An alternative location for this month’s market had to be found quickly, when its usual home outside of the Henhayes Centre was required for the roll-out of the Covid-19 vaccine clinic. Stokes Partners Solicitors stepped in, to generously offer their private town centre car parking spaces, to allow the Farmers’ Market on Saturday to go ahead.

Farmers’ Market Co-ordinator, Hannah Palmer said: “It was only right we stepped aside for the much needed covid vaccination clinic but it did leave us with a predicament, as suitable space in Crewkerne is limited. We are thrilled our market can run this Saturday and grateful to Stokes Partners for saving the day.” Hannah also received suggestions from the market’s loyal customers as well as help from Crewkerne Town Council.

Business Development Partner at Stokes Solicitors, Kit O’Brien said: “We’re delighted to have been able to support the Crewkerne Farmers’ Market and help them ensure their December market could go ahead. Lots of people will be especially keen to ‘buy local’ this year and we hope that it will be a fantastic success.” In further comments, Hannah said: “The dedication of farmers and food producers has shone during the difficult times this year and we’ve seen the growth in Crewkerne Farmers’ Market as customers have sought to support local businesses and shop with them directly.”

Confirmed producers for Saturday’s market include; Bower Hinton Farm Produce, North Perrott Fruit Farm, Ali’s Homemade Produce, Porky Blinders, White’s of Wick, Buckshaw Milk Sheep, Melbury Farm, Dorset Dairy Company, Lakefield Organics and In Clover. Wayford Vineyard had hoped to attend but unfortunately their temporary event notice, which licenses the sale of alcohol, cannot be transferred to another site. They would like to remind customers that the vineyard ‘cellar door’ is open daily for sales of their sparkling wine by calling 01460 74321.
