This year’s Christmas Tree Festival at St Bartholomew’s Church is open to view from 11.30 am until 4 pm tomorrow, Wednesday December 23rd and on Sunday 27th from 12 noon until 4 pm. Despite the difficulties in staging the Christmas Tree Festival this year, 16 local organisations, schools and businesses have taken part, to continue the annual tradition at the parish church, within the Covid-19 rules.
Visitors are not being asked to vote for their favourite tree but are reminded to use the hand sanitiser gel when entering the church and to view the festive trees from a safe distance if others are attending at the same time. For those who would like to leave a message to loved ones, who have passed, Stoodley & Son’s Memory Tree is back at the festival, for visitors to write their special message on a tag to hang on the tree and pause in reflection for a few moments.
Christmas Tree Festival organiser, Hilary Leamon would like to thank those who have displayed a tree this year, the church and the diocese for allowing the festival to go ahead, with the safety measures in place. Hilary would also like to wish everyone a safe and Happy Christmas.
