Crewkerne Farmers’ Market will take place on Saturday, January 16th from 9 am – 1 pm at its new location outside of the town hall in Market Square. The monthly market, which under lockdown rules is classed as essential food shopping, will have strict Covid secure measures in place, to keep everyone as safe as is possible. Somerset Farmers’ Market co-ordinator Hannah said: “In light of Henhayes being required as a vaccination hub over the course of the year, we are going to stop at the town hall and see how that feels for us, our customers and our new neighbours. So far we’ve had plenty of positive feedback.
“Thanks again to Stokes Partners Solicitors for allowing us to use their car park to hold our market last month, it was a great success. We were also stationed outside of the town hall, thanks to Crewkerne Town Council and South Somerset District Council, which worked out really well for us too. Thank you for your continued support of local farmers and producers.”
Saturday’s line up of food stalls will include; Bower Hinton Farm Produce, North Perrott Fruit Farm, Porky Blinders, White’s of Wick, Buckshaw Milk Sheep, Dorset Dairy Company and Lakefield Organics. To ensure trading and visiting the market remains safe, please stay 2 metres away from other people, wear a face covering, use the hand sanitiser available, shop alone when possible and respect the layout of the market.
Tape will be installed around the market, which will have an entrance and exit point and a safe area around its perimeter, for people to queue when waiting to be counted in. Please do not not visit the market if you are feeling unwell, have a high temperature, a continuous cough or loss to your sense of smell and taste.
