Crewkerne Farmers’ Market is now settled in its new location outside of the town hall in Market Square and will be back tomorrow, Saturday February 20th from 9 am until 1 pm. Somerset Farmers’ Market co-ordinator Hannah said: “It was lovely to see both regular customers and new faces in January. Whilst we remain in lockdown and life can feel a little like ‘groundhog day’ we wanted to share a Japanese idiom with you; Ichi-go ichi-e, meaning ‘once in a lifetime.’ Its concept has its roots in Japanese tea ceremonies, and reminds us to cherish any gathering we take part in as no moment in life may be recreated.
“Being part of the Farmers’ Market each month is a once in a lifetime event as whilst the farmers and food producers present will be similar from one month to the next and customers will revisit, the food and drink offered by local producers will be different as the seasons change and we believe that’s something to be celebrated!”
Producers this month include Bower Hinton Farm Produce, North Perrott Fruit Farm, Porky Blinders, White’s of Wick, Buckshaw Milk Sheep, Dorset Dairy Company and In Clover – adding colour to the market with a selection of Spring flowers and plants. Safety measures will be in place to keep the market Covid secure. Please only visit if you are well, maintain social distancing, wear a face covering, sanitise hands and shop on your own when you are able to do so.
