MARKET STREET CLOSED AS FIRE CREWS TACKLE BLAZE IN FORMER BANK

Market Street in Crewkerne is currently closed to traffic as fire crews tackle a blaze in the former Nat West Bank building. The incident recorded as being in a derelict building was reported to Fire Control at 12:16 hrs. In an official statement from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, a spokesperson said: “We are currently in attendance at a large fire in Crewkerne. We currently have 14 fire engines and various specialist vehicles and officers in attendance. Crews from Crewkerne, Yeovil, Taunton, Chard, Street, Martock, Ilminster, Sherborne, Axminster, Somerton, Wincanton and Bovey Tracy are in attendance.
