Electric Scooters are now available to rent from outside of Crewkerne Town Hall and from a parking bay in North Street. The rollout of E-Scooters in Crewkerne and in Chard follows on from the Department of Transport E Scooter Yeovil Trial in partnership with micro-mobility operator Zwings. Joe Lewin, Zwings CEO said: “We recognise that both Crewkerne and Chard are key towns in South Somerset and our local and head office teams are thrilled to be introducing e-scooters into both locations, to complement our successful operation in Yeovil.
“We have proven that there’s a real appetite for convenient and sustainable micro-mobility across South Somerset. The Zwings team has enjoyed a close partnership with South Somerset District Council and local stakeholders to help the community transition towards car alternatives that allow for social distancing and re-imagine the way they travel from A to B.”
Anyone renting an e-scooter must have a valid driving licence, wear a bike helmet and must not ride on pavements. To download the mobile app or for more information, please visit Zwings Facebook page or the company’s website, www.zwings.co.uk. (Our feature photo is from Crew Somerset).
