CREWKERNE’S FIRST BURGER BAR OPENS FOR TAKEAWAY SERVICE

Crewkerne’s first burger bar opens today at 4.30 pm for takeaway service at Bilbys in Market Street. The Burger Shed@Bilbys is a new business in the town, which will be run by Rob Cottle. Rob has 23 years experience working in the food and licensing trade, mainly in the West End of London. He has aspired to open his own restaurant for many years and is looking forward to the new business venture.

Rob Cottle said: “Crewkerne is where I have made my home and am raising a family with my wife Larah, who has always encouraged me to follow my dream. After eight months of false starts and unscrupulous dealings regarding the original planned location in town for the Burger Shed, my plans were ditched. I found myself at a crossroads until I was approached by Chris Emmerson of Bilbys coffee shop about a collaboration and the Burger Shed@Bilbys was born. It’s been a long time coming but a short wait for ‘a shed load of flavour’ and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone.”

The new food business will initially offer a takeaway service on Tuesdays to Saturdays from 4.30 pm until 10 pm. Home delivery is being considered and there are exciting plans to open a seating area for an ‘eat in experience’ as soon as restrictions are lifted.
