LIBRARY REOPENS FOR BOOK BROWSING, PHOTOCOPYING AND COMPUTER SERVICES

Crewkerne Library has reopened for browsing of books, photocopying, printing and free internet access. The library in Falkland Square opened its doors to the public again yesterday and has returned to pre-Covid opening hours; Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 am until 4 pm and Saturdays from 10 am until 12 noon.

All returned items are quarantined for at least 72 hours and essential Covid-19 secure measures are in place, which include admission to a limited number of people at a time and social distancing. Visitors are asked to please wear a face covering and use the hand sanitiser on entering the building. A spokesperson for Crewkerne Library said: “We look forward to seeing you and hope you will bear with us as we all adjust to this way of working.”

Crewkerne Library is continuing to promote activities and reading events online through the Somerset Libraries Crewkerne Facebook page. The library is also encouraging nursery and primary schools, out of school clubs and parents to sign up for this year’s Pyjamarama, which takes place on Friday May 14th. The national event, now in its third year and organised by the Book Trust, is a ‘fun way to get children excited about reading, while raising money to make sure every child gets a bedtime story.’ For more information on the Pyjamarama and to sign up for a free fundraising and activity pack, please visit www.bookturst.org.uk
