COUNCIL PLANNING AND HIGHWAYS AND AMENITIES COMMITTEE MEETINGS

The Agenda for the Planning and Highways Committee includes an update from the deputy clerk on an enquiry reference the Declassification of the A356 and consideration on the recommendation to Somerset Highways for yellow lines at the top of Lyewater, to discourage parking on the junction with Barn Street.

A new planning application will be debated – Crewkerne Key Site – Non Material Amendment to planning permission 19/03483/S73, to remove approximately 50m of footpath and cycleway and to replace in a new location, to allow the retention of trees along Station Road. Councillors will also receive recent planning decisions from South Somerset District Council and any other Matters of Report.

On the Agenda for the Amenities Committee meeting, which will not commence before 7 pm, is an update report from the Amenities Chairman and consideration of the quotation received for the repair of playground equipment at Happy Valley. Crewkerne Town Council will then reconvene as Full Council to approve the draft for the council’s next newsletter and to consider a request that the town council support the campaign to save St Andrews’ mental health ward in Wells from closure.
