Crewkerne Museum opens for the new season on Friday 21st May, with a special exhibition about food. ‘Food Glorious Food’ will run until the end of July and will specifically look at three periods of time, starting with the Victorians. Museum Administrator Janet Harris said: “The exhibition will tickle your taste buds and bring life back to the customs of the past. It will look at how food was preserved, stored and where it was bought, using old photographs and objects from the museum collection and information we have on the local food industry. You can also find out how many meals people ate and what was their favourite food through the ages from Victorian times to the present day.”
The museum will be open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 am until 4 pm on May 21st, 22nd, 28th and 29th. June opening hours and days will be the same but also include Thursdays and the museum is hoping to add Mondays from July 12th. Entry to Crewkerne Museum and its special exhibition on food is free but donations are always welcomed. For more information, please visit www.crewkernemuseum.co.uk.
