COMMUNITY CENTRE LOOKING FORWARD TO WELCOMING EVERYONE BACK IN SEPTEMBER

Henhayes Centre is looking forward to welcoming everyone back for activities and events, when it reopens in September. The community centre has been used for the last six months as a vaccination hub. Inoculations against Covid-19 ended in May but the centre will not be officially signed off by the NHS until the end of June.

Manager of Henhayes Centre, Stephanie Upton-Pittaway said: “We realise many people are eagerly waiting to get back to the Henhayes Centre, however the centre is still under the care of Crewkerne Health Centre until the end of June. Once handed back, we will need a period of time to get the centre ready to be used as a community centre again. We will be reopening at the beginning of September, offering even more activities, groups and classes than before.

“We would like to say a huge thank you and well done to all the medical staff and amazing volunteers who worked so hard during the last six months, to deliver a successful roll-out of vaccinations against Covid-19, when the centre was used for vaccination clinics.”

The Henhayes Centre is looking for volunteers to help during the week, starting in September. Anyone who is looking for a new challenge, enjoys helping the local community, has spare time on their hands and is interested in volunteering at the community centre, is asked to please email office@henhayescentre.org.
