NEXT PLANNING AND HIGHWAYS COMMITTEE MEETING PRECEDES POLICY AND RESOURCES AND FULL COUNCIL

The next meeting of Crewkerne Town Council’s, Planning and Highways Committee on Monday June 14th at 6.45 pm, precedes meetings of Policy and Resources and Full Council. Items on the Agenda for the Planning and Highways meeting include the Clerk’s update report and correspondence received from residents, regarding pavements and road surfaces in the town, particularly at Popleswell and a report of a blocked well at Popleswell. Councillors will also receive recent planning decisions from South Somerset District Council and notification of the following new planning applications:

21/01251/HOU 4 Westover View, Brickyard Lane, CrewkerneErection of a single storey extension to front of dwelling for a garage and existing bedroom extension with internal alterations.

21/01487/HOU 17 Winyards View, CrewkerneConversion of existing adjoining garage to living space, change existing flat roof over kitchen and garage to pitched roof.

21/01328/HOU 10 Laburnum Crescent Crewkerne TA18 7BSErection of a two storey extension to side and a single storey extension to rear of dwelling with the removal of existing conservatory.

21/01758/P3MPA 10 West Street Crewkerne TA18 8AX Prior approval for the change of use of shop into a residential dwelling house.

The Policy and Resources meeting, which will not start before 7 pm, will include consideration of the proposal for inclusion of more detailed finance information on the council’s website and any matters of report. Following on from P & R, the town council will reconvene as Full Council, to confirm that new councillor Alice Samuel will be the lead councillor on environmental concerns, consider when to re-start face-to-face council meetings and further consider the options for the refurbishment of the public toilets in Falkland Square.

    I understand the Town Council are planning to refurbish the Falkland Square toilets as unisex toilets but are they aware that the Government (Robert Jenrick) has apparently
    made it compulsory for public buildings to have separate sex toilets, May 2021.
