Crewkerne Farmers’ Market is back tomorrow, Saturday June 19th, from 9 am – 1 pm outside of the town hall, with fresh strawberries for sale and a short theatre production by Nick White from the Wassail Theatre Company.
Somerset Farmers’ Market Coordinator Hannah said: “This month’s Crewkerne Farmers’ Market is a berry special one! It’s strawberry season and the brilliant Bower Hinton Farm Produce will have their own grown beautiful berries. If that’s not excitement enough – as part of our involvement in The Cultivate Project for Take Art, we welcome theatre performer Nick White. Nick will be performing a shortened version of a new play called Roots at 11 am and 11.45 am.
“This is an early version of a much bigger story, exploring the traditions of family ancestry and inspired by rich conversations with Somerset farming families. The soil nourishes the roots that run deep but how do we know when it’s time to harvest!”
Local producers at Saturday’s Farmers’ Market also include; Ali’s Homemade Produce, North Perrott Fruit Farm, Mike’s Pork, White’s of Wick, Buckshaw Milk Sheep, Dorset Dairy Company, In Clover and Daisy Grace Crochet.
Crewkerne is currently taking part in the Totally Locally Fiver Fest, with lots of £5 special offers at the town’s independent shops and businesses and there may be some £5 deals available at the farmers market. Please remember to only visit the market if you feel well, maintain social distancing, wear a face covering where possible, sanitise hands and shop alone when you are able to do so.
