NEW PRESIDENT OF INNER WHEEL CLUB ACCEPTS CHAIN OF OFFICE FOR FIFTH TIME

The new President of the Inner Wheel Club of Crewkerne, Veronica Chard, accepted the Chain of Office for the fifth time, from the previous President, Trisha Perry, during the handover at Haselbury Mill. Veronica Chard, who first joined the club in January 1995, is hoping to return the club to its previous busy state, prior to Covid, by meeting up twice a month for friendship and fun.

Two charities that Veronica is hoping to support during her Presidency are The Speedwell in Abbey Street, Crewkerne, which was left to the ‘young ladies of Crewkerne’ 100 years ago and School in a Bag, a charity organisation based at Chilthorne Domer near Yeovil. The charity ‘delivers rucksacks full of stationery and resources to poor, orphan, vulnerable and disaster-affected children globally.’

Veronica would also like to see some new members and said: “Ladies aged 18 plus would be most welcome to join us but please phone me in the first instance. We meet at Haselbury Mill on the third Wednesday of every month at lunchtime.”

The members of the Inner Wheel Club of Crewkerne would like to thank the previous President, Trisha Perry for keeping in touch with them, with regular phone calls and more recently with small gatherings at lunchtimes. To contact Veronica about joining the Inner Wheel Club of Crewkerne or for more information, please phone 01460 72810 or 07974812386.
